HayPal's Weigh Pal
Following an experience with a laminitic horse in 2024, HayPal developed a hay net loading system with a built-in scale that allows us to weigh and meet the exact forage needs of our mare. We fed 1.5-2% of her body weight daily to help her quickly lose weight and regain her strength. We continue to use the Weigh Pal every day and have noticed a reduction in the amount of ‘owner stress’. This system takes the mystery out of how much to feed.
Our vet loves the Weigh Pal (see a video of her testing it out for the first time). What appeals to her? She can track exactly what her horses are being fed in the clinic setting. This helps provide an accurate feeding program, reduce hay waste, and therefore saves money.
All of these benefits are further enhanced by the freestanding hay net filler. Just pop a net onto the frame and weigh the hay at the same time. Weigh Pal’s digital scale uses four AA batteries or can be plugged into a wall outlet.
