Introducing the HayBox solar-powered automatic hay feeder. The HayBox provides a single feed for one horse (or other forage animal) in a paddock. It can be used inside a barn stall providing there is power available.
The HayBox was designed for PPID/insulin resistant/easy keepers to provide an extra feed, whether that’s at midnight or midday. Your choice of forage drops into a hay net or, if you prefer, the HayBox can drop hay directly onto the ground or into a bin without a hay net.
Turn 2 feeds into 4, and reduce labour costs! Here’s how we use the HayBox to simplify feeding. Staff feeds breakfast at 7am to our horses (using Fence Top Feeders) and fills the HayBox with hay that will be released at 11am. Staff feeds dinner at 5pm and fills the HayBox to deliver a 10pm feed. The HayBox can be programmed for multiple feedings in a day.
Tested in Canada to -20 degrees Celsius, the HayBox is solar-powered and can be plugged via USB (type A) into an electrical outlet. Important note: to operate as a solar-powered unit, the feeder must be located in direct sunlight. In our test scenarios, we have had success with as little as 2-3 hours of direct sunlight. Please ensure that you have the correct spot for this unit, or, that you have power available to plug it in.
More information about The HayBox is available in the Product Installation Guide.
