The Portable Fence Top Feeder takes hay delivery to a higher level. The hay chute sits above the top rail of the fence and handles both flakes and forks full of hay; we have even dropped 40 lb compressed bales into our feeders.
Originally designed when we realized the Fence Feeder wouldn’t work well on lower height fences, the Fence TOP Feeder has become a barn favourite because it holds a large hay net, and is also, dare we say, kind of fun to use (like shooting baskets).
Portable siderails enable you to take this feeder with your horse when you travel: whether it’s to a neighbouring paddock, a back country camping weekend, or a horse show. Just pop the feeder overtop of the fence at your new location.
If you have mud issues, we recommend the portable feeder over the mounted feeder as it is very convenient to move the portable feeder to a less-muddy location as needed. No tools required!
The Portable Fence Top Feeder comes with or without a hay net. Make sure the bottom of the net, when it’s empty, rests at least 6” off the ground. When you purchase our nets, we send the feeders to you with the net pre-mounted.
