The HayBox Auto Feeder automatically drops a single feed of hay into a slow feed hay net, at any time of day or night. Just load and go. It is an excellent way to add more feeds to your horse’s day, while simplifying yours.
Choose the right HayBox for you:
Battery OR Solar (the solar edition is the battery auto feeder with the addition of a solar panel)
Front-Load (fill hay from inside the paddock or stall) OR Rear-Load (fill from outside the fence as you walk by)

All styles of HayBox Auto Feeders share the following features. Please note that our specifications continue to change as we make improvements to the product:
designed to hold a full meal of hay (or cubes); up to 10 pounds, depending on hay
interior box size is 23”wide x 18” high x 14.5”deep, unit weighs approx 23 pounds (empty).
comes with a built-in 60” hay net which can be removed if you prefer to drop hay onto the ground or into a bin.
can be programmed for multiple reloaded feedings per day. Here is an example schedule: “7-12-5-10”
7am: feed your horse your usual way (maybe try one of our slow feeders), and fill the HayBox now for the 12:00 lunchtime auto feed; at 5pm feed your horse and fill HayBox for the 10pm late night delivery. We will pre-program the timer for you to help get you started.
both solar and battery HayBoxes use a 12V removable/rechargeable lithium ion battery (Milwaukee battery 1.5Ah minimum). We will ship the unit to you with the battery and battery charger. The unit is only ‘active’ for ONE minute during each feed drop. We have found that batteries last several days between charges; batteries should be charged indoors during winter months. We recommend keeping an extra battery charged and ready for use.
exterior surfaces are made from aluminum and food grade plastic that can withstand extreme forces and temperatures ranging from -40 to +45 Celsius
recommended hanging height is five feet (60” tall) to the top of the HayBox
can be mounted to walls or fences (portable hooks that come with the unit attach to the side rails when mounting on a fence).
the HayBox comes with a 90 day warranty. Please read and follow instructions. Warranty may be void if the unit is modified or installed incorrectly.
