The HayBox Auto Feeder is designed to provide additional single feeds for your horses.
Can’t get home to feed lunch? No problem, the auto feeder can handle that for you.
Need an extra night-time feed for your insulin-resistant elders? No problem, the auto feeder can be programmed for multiple feeds in the day.
Hay is filled manually by opening up the ‘feed door’ from the outside of the fence. The HayBox will take up to approx 8 pounds of hay per meal. At the pre-set time(s) of your choice, the ‘release door’ on the horse-side of the fence will drop open and release they hay into a large 1.5” mesh hay net. Please note that horses may bump their head when they first try the feeder. Our personal horses learned after one feed. After each use, the unit must be refilled manually. Each HayBox comes with a 12V battery and a battery charger. Extra batteries are readily available at your nearest hardware store for approx $30 CAD.

Wall-Mount Battery Auto Feeder: coming soon
There has been interest in an auto feeder that would work INSIDE a barn. HayPal is currently designing a unit that will mount onto the wall of an indoor stall, with both the feed door and the release door accessible from inside the stall. This will be a battery-operated system as we do not believe in using power cords inside stalls. The 12V battery must be charged on a regular basis in a warm (interior) location during cold snaps. If this unit is of interest, please let us know!
