This feeder features one-handed feeding and stainless steel hinges. The HayPal Drop Down Feeder opens with the push of a finger and holds itself open at 90 degrees while you load hay one-handed. To close, lift and push the feeder rail until it slams shut into the Easy Latch. The Easy Latch is a simple yet robust, horse-resistant latch system that can very simply be released by a human only. To date, the Easy Latch is horse-proof!
Drop Down Feeder is a premium product. It comes with or without a hay net. The Full Feed net holds 2-4+ flakes, while the larger Day Net holds 5-8+ flakes. We have customers who drop 40 pound compressed bales into these feeders, straps and all.
This feeder is perfect for stalls that have a solid wall (whether that’s inside your barn, or outside in a shelter). You must mount the feeder to a solid wood surface (a stud or 1.5”+ lumber). If you do not have a solid surface (for example, if you are mounting to plywood), please reinforce with a backing board.
